WHAT'S UP

Hi, I would like to introduce to you Carole Duchaine, a member of the Fitness Factory. She’s a beautiful person, whom I admire.  Carole came to us in order to get back in shape and to feel healthy.  Although Carole needed our help, she dedicated herself to her objectives of improving her health and feeling good.  Training Carole is not only a pleasure but a privilege. Carole started her own business into permanent eyelash extensions.  Innovative and revolutionary, the MISENCIL (trademark) brand offers your longer, thicker, durable and beautiful eyelashes.  These lashes are all natural and are permanently applied to your own eyelashes all the while giving you a totally natural longer eyelash!  No more runny eyes, no more clumping or mascara.  Just simply totally natural eyelashes, for as long as you want them.

WHAT’S NEW

Summer is not quite over yet with this beautiful weather we are experiencing and since they will start soon, it is time to think about our spinning classes again!  This year, we are going to implement a little extra in our classes by adding an extra 30 minutes, once per week, to create a boot camp style class to add a little spice to our program.  This class will be added to our schedule, as soon as Sept. 15th. Join now and get on the Boot camp bandwagon where fun and fitness go hand in hand.  Don’t forget to sign up and reserve your bike as soon as possible.  Hope to see you there! Until then, enjoy the beautiful September weather we are experiencing and let’s hope it continues for the rest of the month!!!  We can dream, can’t we?

WHAT’S INTERESTING

INTERESTING:   ORGANIC VS. GENETICALLY MODIFIED FOODS

Since 2004, a problem has arisen with genetically modified corn.  A number of people living close to a genetically modified corn field on the island of Mindanao in the Philippines suffered from fever, repertory maladies and skin reactions.  The corn, named BT corn, contained a pesticide within its genetic code.  The health problems started in the fall of 2003 when the crop produced pollen.  Very soon, the doctors speculated that the problems where of an infectious source due to the fact that when 4 families from the village left, and they soon became healthy again, but as soon as they returned, their symptoms returned.   After having studied the cases, the scientists concluded that the BT corn could have been the cause of the infections.  Blood tests were then conducted and concluded that the villagers were developing antibodies to the pesticides in the BT corn.  These scientific discoveries were immediately questioned by Monsanto, the world leader in the genetically modified food production, and by the Government of the Philippines.  Monsanto argues that there are no documented cases of allergic reactions to BT corn after seven years of large commercial utilisation on millions of hectares in USA, Canada, Argentina, Spain and South Africa.  Greenpeace has launched an appeal for more research because there is such an enormous uncertainty around these kinds of crops.

So it is now up to you to do your own research and choose for yourself.

To your health, sincerely,

Sylvie Condrain
