In my opinion:
Hi, my name is Luc Limoges.
I’m a dentist by profession and a member of the U.S. / Canadian Golf Teachers Federation. Golf is my real passion.
Last winter, I decided to do some strength training to lose some weight and gain some muscle. I decided to check out the Fitness Factory. My trainer suggested that I use my time in the gym to strengthen my golf game in addition to losing weight and gaining muscle.
I went through two sessions of testing to identify weaknesses and imbalances in my upper and lower body. After the testing was done, the trainer compiled the information and created a training program. Strength exercises were implemented to improve my driving performance. Golf seems to be essentially an arm function, but this is not the case. My trainer put together a series of exercises that concentrate on a golfer’s power source---the large muscles of the legs and hips. Strong quadriceps, hamstrings, hips, and gluteals are essential for effective power production.
I’ve been very pleased with the training program and the attention I’ve received at the Fitness Factory. I’ve learnt that whatever sport you play, you can use the gym to improve your strength foundation. Now I understand why the Fitness Factory prefers to be labelled as a strength coaching facility. At first I didn’t understand the difference, but now it’s clear. A trainer by definition works toward getting people fit. On the other hand, a strength coach teaches individuals how to be stronger at whatever sport they are participating in. For all you golfers who want to improve your game, start working with the Fitness Factory in the off-season. I promise that you will be delighted with the results.
Sincerely,
Luc Limoges
